Meetings

We usually meet on the last Saturday in the month at the Holy Trinity Parish Hall, Sunninghill Preparatory School, Culliford Road North, Dorchester, DT1 1QG.
The hall is open from 10:30am and during the morning members often either spin, prepare fibres for spinning, weave or bring a portable textile project to work on. At some meetings there may be a morning workshop, which is free of charge for members to attend.

At each meeting a subject-relevant selection of books will be brought for borrowing on the day. For the full list of books together with the ‘Terms of Use’, please go to the Library page. A printed copy of the Full List will be brought to every meeting.

The catalogue of Guild equipment is also available for members to browse and reserve items for loan. For a copy of the Equipment Hire Contract, please go to the Equipment page.

There is also a sales table available for members to buy and sell various items such as yarns, fibres, equipment, books and fabrics. If you have items to sell with a 10% commission to the Guild or to sell and donate takings to the Guild, you can download the forms from the Sales page to fill in ahead of the meeting.

Members usually bring a packed lunch or go into Dorchester town centre.

The afternoon session starts around 2.00pm during which there is usually a visiting speaker. At certain meetings there are also competitions open to members.

Our ‘Show and Tell’ table provides members with the opportunity to bring in pieces of their work (both the successful and not so successful!) and to share information on techniques used and their experiences with various fleeces, yarns and fibres.

Full details of this year’s programme can be found on the Programme page.

Visitors are always welcome at all of our meetings, for a fee of £4 per meeting.
Also members from other Guild may attend our meeting for a fee of £2.50.
